Since buying The Rose and Crown, in 2004, Arthur and Janette have steadily set about a quiet revolution in changing the style and content of the menus. This in turn has led to a change in culture where the emphasis in now very much on relaxed, informal dining from menus which reflect the best traditions of classic pub food as well as imaginative country cooking. We thrive on the hustle and bustle of our customers enjoying a great meal.
Our menus have evolved to take into account our emphasis on home cooking using, wherever possible, the freshest and most local produce available. However we equally appreciate that value is as important as quality and, when appropriate, we will look further afield to ensure our customers get the best of both worlds. Produce provenance is increasingly important to discerning diners and we hope we strike the right balance between offering, wherever practicable, local produce without the usual, more expensive price tags. In common with many dining establishments terms such as “organic”, “free range”, “homemade”, and “local” appear on our menus. However we believe they are not at the expense of great cooking and value!
We offer a Main Menu which is available Tuesdays through Saturdays as well as Sunday evenings and Monday Bank Holidays. The Main Menu consists of a starter section, a classic pub dishes section and finally an a la carte section. In addition a Fish & Seafood menu is also available alongside the Main Menu. A Snack Menu complements our Main and Fish & Seafood menus Tuesdays through Saturdays and Monday Bank Holidays lunchtimes.
Our Dessert Menu complements both our Main, Fish & Seafood and Snack Menus to round off your meal at The Rose and Crown.
We also offer a Sunday Lunch Roast Menu with the option of 1, 2 or 3 courses depending on your appetite.
Senior citizens and children are also catered for in our menus.
Whatever your tastes, we hope there is something on our menus which you will enjoy – and return to repeat the experience.
Bon appetit!
